A heart-wrenching video has recently gained attention on social media, showing a poignant moment between a mother dog and a man at a rescue shelter.
The clip, shared by the Kluang Johor Stray Dog Home, captures the man arriving at the shelter in his car and bringing along an adult dog and a package containing five newborn, whose eyes were still closed.
Once at the shelter’s entrance, the man places the animals on the ground, preparing to leave. Sensing what was about to happen, the mother dog clings to the man’s legs, seemingly begging him not to abandon her and her young ones.
Despite her frantic efforts to cling to him and plead for him to stay, the man forcefully breaks free from her grasp, shaking her off with cold determination before climbing into his car and speeding away, leaving her standing helplessly in his wake.
After the shelter staff found the abandoned dog family, they quickly brought them to a veterinarian for a check-up. Initial tests suggested that the mother dog might have breast cancer.

However, further examinations revealed that she was suffering from pyometra, a serious uterine infection that requires surgery once the puppies finish nursing. Additionally, the puppies will need to be sterilized in the future to avoid similar health issues.
The shelter, already dealing with financial constraints due to having over a thousand animals in their care, was challenged further by this new addition.
The pandemic has led to a decline in donations, compelling them to seek more resources to feed and care for the animals. The unexpected burden brought on by the man’s actions left the shelter both overwhelmed and frustrated.
In response, they quickly organized a heartfelt social media campaign, reaching out to friends, strangers, and compassionate followers alike, urging everyone to contribute whatever they could—no matter how small—emphasizing that every single donation, when joined together, could make a life-changing difference.

Many kindhearted individuals have shared the post and contributed as best they can. Unfortunately, the shelter later reported the sad news that two of the puppies had passed away.
The man who left the dogs has since reached out to the shelter’s president to apologize, explaining that the dogs were strays and he was unable to care for them due to his own financial difficulties.
